The DEWALT D26453K Random Orbit Sander Kit is one of the best-selling sanders. The reason for the success of the DEWALT D26435K is simple, it is a very good sander and the price is cheap. You are getting very good value for the money.
The DEWALT D26453 is easy to use and control. Light weight and compact size makes it comfortable to use. It generates very little vibrations.
Unfortunately, DEWALT no longer ship the DEWALT D26453K with a hard storage case. It is now shipped with a small nylon zipper bag, clearly a step in the wrong direction. One potential disadvantage of the D26453 Random Orbit Sander is its non-standard dust outlet port. It is an 1.5 inch port, so for most shop-vacs you need an adapter. Fortunately, the dust bag that comes with the unit is efficient and catches most of the dust.
If you don’t need variable speed, you can save a fair bit of money by buying the DEWALT D26451K random orbit sander instead. It is the same sander as the DEWALT D26453K but without variable speed. Here you can learn more about the DEWALTD26451K random orbit sander

I’ve used this sander now on a few projects and I’m quite happy with it. It has more than enough power for my needs, I have it set to the slowest/lowest setting and that’s been fine. At least at the low power setting the noise is perfectly tolerable without hearing protection. I imagine at the higher settings you’d want hearing protection for extended use. The dust pickup seems to work fairly well, most dust seems to end up in the bag. The sander seems fairly comfortable and easy to hold. Vibration is perfectly tolerable.
