The variable speed feature makes it very versatile. The Makita 9227CX3 is well balanced, making it easy to control. It is also quiet. The Soft Start feature is very handy, it prevents you from accidently damaging the paint. The Makita 9227CX3 is an excellent tool for cars and boats.
Most people find the Makita 9227CX3 well balanced but some users have complained about the length of the tool.
The Makita 9227CX3 can be used as a sander as well but virtually everyone who buys it uses it as a polisher. Note that no sanding accessories are included in the kit.

This machine is everything & more I expect from a quality buffer/polisher! It’s light weight compared to other similar models, quiet & smooth, very well balanced. It has a speed dial you can adjust while in use. THAT is a great feature in itself! This unit came with a carry bag, two different handles, two wool buffing pads, a hook & loop style backer pad and a few other odds & ends.
